Now and then an opportunity just knocks at your door. Perhaps you’re asked to lead a strategic and business critical project. Maybe you’re offered a position as chief architect for a huge BPM, SOA or integration initiative. Eventually you get the chance to develop a new business idea with innovative services and pricing models. Or you get the possibility to work with the hottest technology or a brand new framework.
But quite often an opportunity knocks just once. So sometimes you just have to grab the chance and apply rule #22: Take a shot.
Take a shot. Take the chance. Grasp the opportunity. Jump into it and just do it.
Wayne Gretzky – called “The Great One” and “The greatest ice hockey player ever” – explains this rule much simplier: “You miss 100% of the shots you never take.”
