#16: Always have a plan “B”

Experienced consultants know one thing for sure – unforeseen events occur. Conditions can change. People may change and they even may change their mind without telling you. Expectations may not be fulfilled. Agreements may not be met. Technology may fail. Frameworks or software tools may not be that mature as the sales guy promised. Things often turn different as planned and could go wrong. Terribly wrong… Shit happens… Plan “A” may break.

Smart consultants follow rule #16: Always have a plan “B”.

Experienced consultants know Murphy’s law (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murphy’s_law). Smart consultants know that Murphy’s law does come true. Normally. And that’s why smart consultants think twice and always have a plan “B”.
